Terms of use
These terms describe use of Polyglot and this website, provided by Dylan de Heer Holding B.V.. Review them before using the software. They do not replace third-party software licenses or rights that applicable law gives you.
Using Polyglot
You may install and use the distributed Polyglot app for lawful personal or business work, subject to these terms and applicable third-party licenses. The app and website remain protected by intellectual property law. No ownership of the app is transferred to you. Restrictions do not override rights to use, examine or modify separately licensed open-source components under their own licenses.
Use media that you own or are authorized to process, record, translate and distribute. Follow our acceptable-use policy. You are responsible for deciding whether you have the necessary rights, permissions and legal basis for a particular recording.
Free trial and Pro license
The free trial includes unlimited media transcription and subtitle translation for seven consecutive days (168 hours) on that Mac. It starts when you begin your first transcription or translation job, after any required model setup. Opening the app, importing a file or downloading models does not start it. Stopping or cancelling a job does not restart the trial. Jobs started before the deadline can finish. After expiry, new transcription and translation jobs, including additional languages and retries in existing projects, require Pro. Saved projects remain available for editing, conversion, timing adjustments and export; video enhancement and compression stay free. Users of the former three-file allowance receive a fresh seven-day trial when first processing with version 1.9.0 or later. No account or payment details are needed for the trial, and it does not automatically convert to a purchase.
Polyglot Pro has a one-time EUR base price of €29.99, including applicable VAT, for one person on up to two activated Macs. Review the final amount and currency shown at checkout before paying. There is no subscription or recurring charge. The purchase covers lifetime Pro access and future Pro updates; it does not promise compatibility with every future operating system, perpetual third-party services, or a transfer of software ownership.
The Polyglot software license is provided by Dylan de Heer Holding B.V. Verify your email before paying. Stripe/Link acts as merchant of record through Stripe Managed Payments and handles the transaction, indirect taxes, receipts and payment support under the terms shown at checkout. Those transaction terms apply alongside these software-use terms. Pro becomes available when payment is confirmed, and you can restore it with your verified purchase email. An activated Mac works offline. Deactivate an old Mac in your account to make room for a replacement; an offline Mac receives changes when it next checks its license.
For transaction questions, refunds or any applicable withdrawal request, use the payment-support details shown at checkout or on your receipt. Stripe/Link may issue refunds under the applicable checkout terms. Contact us using the details below for Polyglot license or product support, or help routing a payment request. Mandatory consumer protections remain unaffected; review any digital-content consent presented at checkout before paying. A full successful refund or reversed payment removes that purchase’s Pro entitlement. Deleting your account ends restoration and deactivates your Macs, but does not automatically request or issue a refund. Your local projects remain yours.
Your files and generated results
You retain your rights in your source media and text. We do not claim ownership of your recordings or subtitle projects. Generated output may contain errors or content in which rights are uncertain; output is not a guarantee of accuracy, originality, copyright clearance or accessibility compliance.
Review names, meaning, translations, timing and relevant sound information before publication or reliance. Do not treat generated text as a certified translation, official record or professional advice. Keep backups of important source files, projects and exports. Local processing does not remove your own privacy or security obligations.
Availability and updates
Features depend on supported hardware, macOS, codecs, model availability and third-party dependencies. The website explains current requirements and known limits. Internet access is needed for initial model downloads, requested video downloads, documentation, update checks, email verification, purchasing and first license activation.
We may provide changes, fixes or signed updates and may change or discontinue features subject to applicable law and any specific commitments made to you. Install only releases from the official site or the signed in-app updater. Third-party services may change independently of Polyglot.
Responsibility and mandatory rights
We take reasonable care in developing and describing Polyglot, but AI output and uninterrupted or error-free operation are not guaranteed. To the extent permitted by applicable law, we are not responsible for loss caused by your unauthorized use, your publication of unchecked output, or circumstances outside our reasonable control.
Nothing here excludes or limits liability where that would be unlawful, including liability that cannot be excluded under applicable consumer law. Statutory rights and any mandatory warranties remain available. These terms do not create a blanket exemption from responsibility merely because the app runs locally.
Applicable law and contact
Dutch law applies, without depriving consumers of mandatory protections available under the law that otherwise applies to them. Disputes may be brought before courts that have jurisdiction under applicable law; these terms do not remove consumers’ mandatory forum rights.

Changes to these terms
We publish material changes with an updated date. Changes do not retroactively remove rights already accrued. The price and license terms presented at purchase apply to that purchase, subject to mandatory law.
