Follow the requested application format
If an employer requests or accepts a recorded introduction, Polyglot can help you prepare reviewed subtitles from your own recording on Mac. Match the video to that application’s instructions before spending time on captions. A video résumé is a presentation of your experience; adding subtitles does not guarantee that a hiring portal will accept it or that it will improve your prospects.
Keep the required written CV and application answers complete. The National Careers Service advises tailoring a CV to the role and presenting relevant skills and experience clearly. Use the same discipline when reviewing the spoken introduction. Do not treat a video as a replacement for requested documents.
Check spoken claims against your current CV
Make a private claim check linking each role, date, qualification and example in the video to your current application. Verify names and technical terms against your own records. Preserve the difference between supporting a project and leading it, studying a skill and holding a qualification, or contributing to a result and owning the whole outcome.
This newly written example is fictional. Its purpose is to catch an incorrect verb, not to suggest a claim you should make.

Do not upgrade
responsibility.Keep personal and employer information deliberate
Use material you are entitled to share. Check previous-employer screenshots, client names, confidential project figures and other people visible in portfolio footage. Remove information you do not want the recipient to retain before creating the final recording. Editing it out of a subtitle file leaves it in the audio or picture.
A translated introduction needs human review of job titles, qualification names and the level of responsibility expressed. Avoid substituting a local credential that you do not hold merely because it sounds familiar. Keep important names recognizable and add an approved explanation in the written application where necessary.
Polyglot processes speech and translation locally, with separate network boundaries described on the privacy page. It does not redact your recording, evaluate your qualifications, rank applicants or submit an application. You control the destination and its access settings when you share the result.
Test what the recruiter can actually open
Export SRT or WebVTT if the receiving player accepts a separate track. Check the portal’s file rules and preview the submitted format before final submission. An attachment field that accepts a subtitle file does not establish that its video preview can display it. If embedded captions are required, prepare that version in a suitable external editor.
Watch the video on a small screen and check your name, key role descriptions and any portfolio labels. Captions should not cover the evidence you are discussing. Check every cue after an edit, including the final contact or next-step sentence. Do not publish a public link merely because a private portal preview is inconvenient.
Keep a local copy of the video, final CV and reviewed track identified by role and version. Record which file you delivered. If you update your experience or tailor the introduction for another role, review the whole matched set before reusing the previous captions.
